Flooring ideas hardwood and tile
Flooring ideas for 2019 are creative and functional.

Will you be doing home improvements on your floors in 2019? Are you wondering about the latest flooring trends hitting the market? What about selecting the right shade of hardwood? What colors in flooring will be the most popular? Today I'm sharing fresh and creative solutions in hardwoods, tile and vinyl flooring. These options for your interior are both beautiful and functional.

The flooring samples I'm sharing today come from www.southcypress.com. I should mention that while they are a vendor of mine, I am not being paid by them. I'm just giving my honest opinion about these latest flooring trends.

Medium-tone hardwoods are a beautiful flooring idea for 2019
Medium-tone hardwoods are increasingly popular for 2019

For 2019, medium-tone wood floors will be gaining in popularity. Super light and super dark hardwoods have reigned supreme for over a decade. Today's warm, medium-tone hardwoods provide a nice complement to white and gray colors, which remain the most popular paint choices for both walls and cabinetry. Furthermore, the farmhouse style continues to increase in popularity and these medium-tone hardwoods make an extraordinary pairing with that style.

This subtle chevron pattern creates beautiful interest in this interior.

The Lexington Brown sample shown above provides a subtle, all-over pattern because of its diagonal planking. It is manufactured with a left and a right side to achieve a beautiful chevron pattern that won't overwhelm your space. Visit my Youtube video to see how this floor interlocks with a left and right side to achieve this outcome.

Forget everything you think you know about vinyl flooring because it's back and it's better than ever. Its texture can even closely resemble hand-scraped barn wood. In fact, as I was unwrapping this sample, I thought it was an exotic hardwood. It wasn't until I handled the piece from underneath that I was finally clued in! What a great flooring solution for a laundry room or mudroom. The look of hardwood, but with the added benefit of being water, mildew and mold resistant...and all at a fraction of the cost. This is a creative flooring solution that is sure to take 2019 by storm! Learn more.

Gray porcelain tile that is slip-resistant for kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms.

Another creative flooring idea for interiors is oversized tile that looks like a concrete-slate crossover. It has a surface with plenty of friction, thus making it an optimum choice for bathroom floors or other wet areas. In addition to being a safe flooring option that reduces slips and falls, it's easy to clean (oversized tile means less grout to keep clean!). Another oversized tile floor is the Cambridge. Choose the hexagon tile option for a subtle, all-over flooring pattern. Hexagon tile in the bathrooms is not necessarily new. In fact, it has been used in bathrooms since the early 19th century. This oversized tile in a gorgeous gray color, however, is far from ordinary. Its color variations are gorgeous and would enhance both modern and farmhouse styles alike.

The Cambridge also comes in a darker color option, the Cambridge Noir (see below).

This Italian porcelain tile , the Cambridge Noir, is a great choice for your family: it's durable, stylish and can handle the elements. What a great choice for a chic mudroom or laundry room. Again, its oversized measurements, subtle color variations and dark overall color make it a superb flooring idea for 2019 and beyond!
